Dugout Club

Sketches in Thyme has another great sketch challenge this week!  It's not too late to scrap a few more precious memories this year and enter to win a prize at the same time!  My layout, based on the sketch, features pictures from a day spent at an amazing Dodger game.  We were blessed to be able to watch the game in a suite and it was so cool!

Here's the sketch this week.  Isn't it great?

I hope you can join over at Sketches at Thyme one more time this year! Happy Scrapping!

December Daily Day 19 and 20

December 19th highlights my daughter's love for hot cocoa and the Christmas story.  You can see how happy she is in this picture.

December 20th shows off our Christmas card wreath.  The photo at the bottom shows a Christmas card from our dear friends in Nevada.  We have been friends for a very long time and visit them throughout the year.  We I went to scrapbook with Stacy in November, she challenged me to create this December Daily album.  It's going to be such a great keepsake when it's done.  Thank you for the inspiration, Stacy!

Have a lovely day,

December Daily day 17 and 18

December Day 17 is all about creating Christmas cards.  Some years I create cards for family members and some years the kids make them.  This year my daughter had fun inking and coloring cards. Love it!

Day 18 is all about another family tradition, Katie the elf.  Katie loves to move all over the house when the kids are sleeping.  Sometimes she brings treats like donuts in the morning.

Hope you have a lovely day.

December Daily Day 15 and 16

We make a lot of cookies in December.  My daughter jumps at the chance to throw a batch in.  Of course, sugar cookies need a few red and green sprinkles on them! I used a small frame to pop the picture of the cookies off the page. The ornaments were stickers.

On the 2nd page of I used mostly stickers and an acetate border over the picture.  I met one of my besties at the mall and I thought it would be funny to take a picture in front of the Santa photo area.  If you look closely at the picture, you'll see a family posing behind us.  We had a good laugh at that.  I also added a few sequins for a little sparkle.

Have a lovely day!

December Daily Day 13 and 14

December Day Day 13th is a tribute to the specialty drinks at Starbucks during the holidays.  My favorite is a Creme Brûlée Latte.  The background was created from an actual Starbucks cup.  My girlfriend, Stacy, gave me the idea to include it on the page.

On the 14th day of December, I got together with most of the girls in my book club for a holiday party.  It's such a great group of women and I am lucky to know them.  Quite a few of them I met when my now teenage son was in Kindergarten.  I added an acetate border to the photo on the right.

December Daily Day 12

On the 12th day of December, we took the kids to their favorite restaurant for dinner.  For the first page, I used gold die cuts, glittering numbers, and a cute little frame from Graphic 45. On the second page, the beautifully sequined X and O are stickers, while the gold snowflake is a die cut.

One of the unexpected perks of doing a December Daily album is that the kids readily smile when I take pictures of them now.  My son doesn't particularly like to be photographed, but when I say it's for "December Daily," he sighs and puts a smile on his face.  Love that he does it for me.  It's so sweet.

 Thanks for stopping by.

December Daily Day 11

Good morning, friends.  Today's December Daily is all about Christmas wishes.  On the left side of the page, I added a fun banner from Pink Paisley and altered a die cut ornament with a bow and epoxy circles.  I added the number 11 to the banner.  The journaling tag is my Christmas wish for my children.

On the right hand side, I took a picture of the kids in a santa hat in front of our tree and added what they wanted most for Christmas.  I just love these pictures of them, such cuties!

Have a wonderful day.

December Daily Page 10

I had fun making a Christmas tree with extremely sparkly tape for my December Daily.  My husband and I went to the Jack London Square in Oakland on our way to the airport on December 10th.  What a beautiful place that was, with lots of cool restaurants and boats to look at.  There was also a HUGE Christmas tree in the square.  It was a great way to end our romantic getaway.  Best Christmas present ever!

Have a fabulous day wherever you are at.

December Daily Page 9

I needed a few pages for the 9th of December.  We had the honor of eating at French Laundry that night, something we have been wanting to do for many years.  Every single course was so amazing, so delicious, that I wanted to include quite a few of the pictures I had taken that day.  I also wanted to include a picture of the menu for the day. It was everything we could have hoped it would be and I can't rave about the food and service enough.

Thanks for stopping by.

December Daily Day Eight

For my December Daily today, I added a pocket page so that I could keep my journaling card, hotel key card, and the menu of the restaurant we ate at that night. I slit a hole into the plastic sheet where the pocket opens.  On the right, you can see how beautifully lit up Napa is at night during December.

Have a lovely day.

December Daily Page Six and Seven

December Daily page six was all about the kids being home from school because of the fires in Southern California.  While we weren't in danger, the air quality was poor.  My husband made us all my daughter's favorite breakfast, a breakfast burrito filled with eggs, sausage, bacon, and pico de gallo.  Sounds amazing, doesn't it?

Day seven shows some of our family's Christmas decorations. My daughter drew the hilarious Santa on her large whiteboard, while I made the ornament wreath this year with Dollar Store ornaments. I made one for my sister for her birthday present and liked it so much I made one for us, too.

Thanks for stopping by.  Enjoy your day!

December Daily Day 4 and 5

Good morning, scrapbook friends. Today I have my fourth and fifth December Daily pages to share with you(journaling card on left covered for privacy). Day four was the start of my son's Mountain Bike Team practices, while my husband and daughter played a fierce game of ping pong on our dining table.

The "He looks like a Pink Nightmare" card references the movie, "A Christmas Story".  Day five is all about the Christmas movies we like to watch every year.

Thanks for stopping by.

December Daily Day 3

December is moving right along!  Where does all the time go?  Today's December Daily is all about our Christmas tree.  We love pulling out old and new ornaments and talking about when and where they came from.

Have a wonderful day!

December Daily Day Two

One the second day of December, we had friends over.  It was so lovely to see the kids playing happily together, while the adults chatting happily away.  I'm enjoying how quickly my December Daily scrapbook is coming together.  I'm new to pocket pages and the 6x8" album size, but I have to admit they are perfect for a mini album.

Thanks for stopping by to take a peek!

December Daily Day 1

December is such a fun month for our family and it starts with an advent calendar, so that is what I focused on the first day of my December Daily album. Usually just the kids get one, but this year I made one for my husband, as well.   It's fun seeing how excited they are to open them every day.

Hope your December is off to a great start! Thanks for stopping by.

December Daily Album 2017 Inspiration page

Hello, crafters.  This is the first year that I am going to create a December Daily album.  The idea is that you scrapbook a page or two every day during the month of December, in order to capture all your family's tradition and holiday fun.  To make this a little less daunting, I am going to use a 6x8" Simple Stories S@ap album which also uses pocket pages.  December is, after all, extremely busy.

Here is the first page of my December Daily album.  I created it on Word by adding a picture to my document, changing the photo to black and white, and then printing it with my intro on vellum paper. I love how it turned out.  The vellum lays against patterned paper with snowflakes, which adds a little more dimension to the page.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a lovely day!
