DIY Holiday Treats Bag

Good morning crafters!  One of my favorite holiday traditions is baking

homemade treats and sharing them with friends and loved ones.  In fact,

it's the only time I bake anything that doesn't come from a box!   This year

I have decided to create a treat bag for the cookies, rather than buying containers.

This treat bag was incredibly easy to make and I think people will really appreciate

the special touch it brings.

To create the base of the treat bag, you will need (1) 12 x 12 piece
of cardstock.  You will cut the 12 x 12 cardstock into (1) 6 x 12"
paper and (1) 6 x 10" paper.  Using your Boxer Board, score the
6 x 12 " paper 2 1/2 inches from one end and 2 inches from the
other end, as shown below.

On the 6 x 10 inch paper, you will make one score line 2 1/2 inches
from one end of your paper.

Once you have scored the two pieces, you will glue the two papers
together using the 2 1/2 inch scored sides for both.   Place your glue
on the small 2 1/2 " scored section of your smaller piece.  You will
then place the 2 1/2 inch scored side of your larger piece right on
top it, making sure to line up all the edges.   This will be the bottom
of your bag.

For my treat bag, I added a clear cellophane bag filled with
Hershey kisses.  (It's too early for Christmas baking and I had
a chocolate attack thinking about what to fill the bag with.)

Once you have added your goodies, you will fold up your bag.  The 1 "
scored section of your larger piece will fold over the smaller one.

While the top 1" is folded over, you will punch two holes 1/2 inch
from the top of your bag.  Make sure you also punch through the
top of your cellophane bag as well.  Thread a ribbon through the
two holes and make a bow.  This will keep the bag closed and nestled
in your treat bag.

For the outside of my bag, I colored the versatile Swalk The Present
stamp set, using Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and matted the
image with red card stock.  (Colors listed below image.)  The
perfect sentiment, "For you at Christmas", was from the
Humphrey Hello Rudolph stamp set.

Spectrum Noir colors used: Clothes and hair bows: DR3, DR5;
present: CG1, CG2, DG2, DG4; skin EB1, EB2; hair and eyes: EB5, EB8;
shoes: WG5, WG7.

Do you enjoy baking during the holiday season?  What treats are you
most looking forward to indulging in this year?

I am entering my project in the following challenges:

Lil Red Wagon - Bow-dacious
Enjoy the rest of your day!  I'll be enjoying the rest of the chocolate ;)
