Digi Monday

Paper Playtime has a fabulous challenge as we get ready for July 4th.  And our fabulous sponsers have ALL KINDS of cool prizes for you.  This month's challenge is to use a digi and the colors Red, White, and Blue.  If you are from another country, feel free to substite the colors for your Country's colors instead.  I was blessed to use a gorgeous image from AiFactory Digital stamps.  I used their image Little Fairy holding an empty card.  Isn't she the cutest?  I colored her with my Copics.  I am so in love with these markers.  Especially the colorless blender which gets rid of any mistakes I make ;)

Have a great night!

Crafter's Companions new stamp

Hey all,  Long time since I've blogged!  We went out of town a week and half ago to hang out with a couple of moms that we went to China with when we adopted Lara.  It was awesome seeing how big the girls are getting.  We stayed at the MGM and played in the lazy river the first couple of days, and spent the next two days at my friend, Stacy's house.  9 kids running around playing.  Everyone had so much fun :)

Unfortunately, my kids caught a cold, which turned into a sinus/eye infection and both have been on breathing treatments since we got back.  So we've been a little busy here.  I did have time to make this card for Crafter's Companion.  The stamp set I used, Humphrey's Birthday Conga, is may favorite of their new line of stamps.   I just think the partying elephants doing the Conga are soooo cute!

I made the shaped card with my Cricut Expression using the Birthday Bash cartridge.  Then I colored the adorable image with Copic Sketch markers.   I adhered the stamped images to green card stock, added a strip of matching paper below it, and stamped "Let's Party!" sentiment from the stamp set at the bottom.

Finally, I punched out three small balloons from the designer paper and popped them off the card with Double Sided Adhesive Foam squares.

You can see all these fun new stamps here.  Here's a quick pic of them.  You can will this entire set next month at our Crafter's Companion challenge blog next month.  Stay tuned for more details on the 2nd :)

I'll be back later with my Paper Playtime post later tonight :)

Paper Playtime Challenge

For our Challenge #48, we'd like to see your Z-Fold Cards!!  Z-Fold cards are as easy as folding a regular card  then folding the cover in half back onto itself.  They can also be more elaborate as you'll see in some of our Design Team Member's inspiration for you below.  Use any colors and themes you'd like for your Z-Fold cards.  We can't wait to see what you come up with!

Here is my Z-fold card:

To create this, I made a diagonal cut from the top of the first fold down to the last fold.  So you are only cutting two of the three folds.  To create the fun pattern, I used a Martha stewart punch along the whole top of the card.  I added a white Prima flower over a crochet flower and add the ribbon to keep it closed.

The bear is a Stamp from Crafter's Companion (Thanks a Bunch) I colored with Copics.

I then added some birthday sentiment stamps from Close to My Heart and a couple of flowers and bling.  I used a doubled sided paper for the card which I think is American Crafts.

Now get your Z-Fold Card creativity flowing!  This challenge ends NOON EST Saturday, June 25th.   Our sponsor this challenge is PEACHY KEEN STAMPS with the PK-470 Happy New Year Assortment. YOU MUST HAVE A USA SHIPPING ADDRESS TO QUALIFY TO WIN, BUT NOT TO PLAY. There are 31 stamps in this set, and don't worry - even though it's called Happy new Year Assortment, they are perfect for EVERYTHING year round!

Hope your Monday is a good one!

Bitten (and a giveaway)

I've been under the weather this week, so not a whole lot of crafting going on.  I did make a quick and easy layout with the pictures I had of Chris and Alexander Skarsgard.  With the new season of True Blood around the corner, I thought it was time to scrap them.

The photo on the left is from a photographer friend of Chris'.  The paper is from Eternal Love by DCVW and the flowers are Prima.  The middle on I glimmer misted and stickled black.  It was originally white.

I used the sketch challenge from Frosted Designs.

Also, you will want to head over to Crafter's Companion USA blog.  They are giving away an Ultimate tool AND a mystery gift!!  This is what I use to make all those gorgeous gift boxes and cards with.  All you have to do to win is to leave a comment.

Have a crafty day :)

Whooo Hooo!!! It's Friday!

Only 6 more hours till my peeps come over for a girls' night out.  Chris is sweet enought to keep the kids' upstairs while we have our fun :)  They are bringing wine and snacks and we are going to make a gift box and fill it with 5 easy cards.  (My girlfriends are not scrappers.)  Here's a picture of what we are going to make.  (The box is in the back.)  I can't wait!

Today was also Lara's last day of preschool.  Wow, did that year just fly by!!!  Where did it go?  The kids sang a couple of songs and and then we had an ice cream social.  I can't believe how much my baby has grown!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Crafter's Companion Summer challenge

It's time for another fun Crafter's Companion Challenge.  I had so much fun with this one.  The challenge is to use a Crafter's Companion stamp and make a project using Summer colors or a Summer theme.  I love the colors of Summer, especially the oranges and yellows that remind me of the Sun.  I decided to do a layout this month using my Fairyopolis Collection.

I started by distressing my Fairyopolis Paper and inking them up with brown chalk.  Then I placed a purple magic mesh along the left side of the page.  After using a decorative punch along the edges, I wrapped a large see through ribbon around it and tied it into a bow.  I used glue behind the bow to make it stay in the postion I wanted it too.  Lastly I placed the word, "Believe" right on the ribbon and again used strong glue to make sure the letters would stay down and added a Decoupaged Fairy from the Fairyopolis Complete Cardmaking Kit.  I added Stickles to him to make him sparkle.

In the upper left hand corner of my page I used the rub-on saying, "Every little girl wants to be a fairy", a rub-on fairy, and butterfly.  I also added a beautiful fairy sticker.  I just love how gorgeous it is.  These were also from the Fairyopolis Card making kit.

Just below my picture of Lara with her fairy wings, I added a stamped Fairy from the Fairyopolis Clear Stamp Set Summer, colored her with Copics, and cut her out.  I then added Stickles to her wings as well.

For the flowers, I took the flowers that came in the Fairyopolis card making kit and added Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam to them.  This made them not only sparkling, but also very stiff.  While they were drying I molded the petals so that they stood out even more.  I then added various big crystals to the centers of the flowers as well as rhinestone and fabric leaves.

Finally I added some of the butterflies from the Card making kit around the page and I was done.

Hope I see some of you entering in our contest.  It's going on throughout June, so you'll have plenty of time.

I am entering my layout in the following challenges:

Copic Creations - Distressing with Copics
Whimsical Wednesdays - Fun in the Sun

Have a great day!
