Happy New Year!, Sign up for Project 2011 Scrap our stash

Here comes another year!  2010 just zoomed by!  I'm ringing in the New Year w/ some movies.  I've just about made my scrapping goals for 2010 and am ready for some new ones next year.  I love making New Year's resolution.  Now keeping them, that's a little tougher ;)  My goals this year are very different.

1.  Scrapbook primarily with my stash for the next six months and saving some money while I'm at it.
2.  Use my Expression until steam starts coming out of it.
3.  Lose 10 lbs by my birthday.  (April 1st)
4.  I really like Ali's idea of a word of the year.  Mine is going to be Play.

I think these are very doable.   I'd love to have some company for this challenge.  Once a month, on the first, we can all visit each other's blogs, see how it's going, and give some encouragement.  There are no rules for this.  Just try to scrap your stash, rather than going out and buying stuff.  It can be for layouts, cards, tags, you name it.  If you have to buy something b/c you love it, no worries.  Have a kit of the month?  Great.  It's just a fun way to encourage each other every month and see what we are all doing with our stash :)

***  I've had a few questions about Project 2011, so I thought I'd talk a little more about it.  Project 2011 is a group of scrappers who are using their stash for their projects, and avoiding the stores.  If this sounds like something you are interested in, click HERE and enter your blog link.  You can do it for one month, two months, or six months like I am.  I will have a new sign up every month.  There are no hard and fast rules.  You decided which stash to use, what to make, etc.  At the end of the month, I will relist all the blogs and we will all visit one another and leave encouraging comments with our fellow scrappers.  Don't worry about details like monthly kits, gifts, blog candy etc.  If you have them, great.  The goal of Project 2011 is only to use your stash, rather than hitting the stores for products.  Love to have more people sign up.  It's a great way to meet other bloggers and get some new ideas as well.

Whose game?  I think I'll have a sign up every 1st of the month, so you can do it every month or skip some months if you'd like to.  (CHA months are tough, lol).  No big commitments ;)  Feel free to add the button I've posted on my sidebar for this.  The more the merrier :)

To join in, go to the first day of the current month and find the Sign-ups.

I need to scrap my stash. Especially now, that I have so many kit of the months clubs coming. I am a bit embarrassed by it. (got 4 for xmas, not to mention the one I already have.) For my scrappy goal, I want to do more minis, altered items, and cards. will see how that goes.

happy new year my bloggie friend. If we ever go back out to CA (MIL lives there) will have to meet up.

I've actually been using a lot of stash in Nov. & Dec. I've got my eye on new stuff for 2011 so I may join in on alternate months. LOL

And if there are some scrappy events in Cali in 2011 please let me know. I'll be visiting my daughter in San Diego several times this year. Would love to scrap with ya. :) Happy New Year!

Great resolutions! I need to use up my scraps for sure. The box they are in is busting at the seams and I don't have room to put them in multiple organizers.

I love this idea! It goes along with my whole organizational spree I did last fall on my blog. Do we post a mr. Linky link to a specific blog post, or just our blog in general? I will get working on using my stash asap!

Like this project, Denise. I usually scrap my stash (plus the monthly kit I get), and then place and order online every few months (usually when there's a sale, so this will be easy!). You might want to check my resolution (challenge) at Let's Scrap's Hoppy New Year Blog Hop starting Jan 14, it's Scrap our Stash taken a step further!

I'm assuming it's ok to buy adhesive? If I get to scrap at all, I will be using my stash. I guess we can use items we win, too??? Yes, I have a lot of questions!

What a fun idea. I do have several bins with paper scraps and different things I can utilize, but I don't know if I can resist buying more stuff... :)
I love your idea of a word for the year, what a neat idea. I'm going to have to think on that and choose a word.

Play on my friend! Glad you're feeling better. Happy New Year!

I just thought of one way I will try to use my stash...everytime I make a layout I will make a card with the scraps while they are all still out on my scrap table.
Why don't you try this too?? That is my challenge to you my bff. I'll do it if you will...

I'm in! I have so much stash and we need to save for a big trip in the summer. This is however a business....so my challenge to myself is to use my stash on anything that I make for personal use. I will do my best to use my stash for clients but sometimes I just don't have what they need.
I'm putting your button on my side bar.

Other than my 2 design team projects, my Jan work should be mostly using older stash. Hope that's OK to link up, otherwise please delete me from the list.

I already started using my stash in December but I have enough to keep me going until 2016! So I am in!

I just wanted to let you know how much you have inspired me! I read your post and decided that I like your plans and wanted to make my own similar resolutions. I can proudly say that I have not made any purchases for scrap supplies other than adhesive so far this year. Thanks for the nudge!

I know its too late for January but I have been scrapping my stash for the last two months. It will be so much easier with a little encouragement. Thanks for the great idea. I have so much to use up.

I have bought very little during January and have been digging out old unused supplies as well as bags of scraps. This sounds like just what I need!
