Good morning! Today I have a layout of my beautiful daughter. The layout is based on this week's gorgeous sketch challenge at Sketches in Thyme. Be sure to enter and you could win a prize! Click here for more info.
For my layout, I used lots of chipboard and a vellum quote from Quick Quotes that reads, "Allow yourself to trust joy, and embrace it. You will find you dance with everything." The photo was taken at an Imagine Dragons concert.
It's sketch time! Sketches In Thyme has a ton of gorgeous sketches EVERY month to inspire scrapbookers to get their memories into albums. Here is my take on this week's sketch.
My kids are always goofing around and these two photos of them having fun with each other make me smile every time I see them. The vellum quote down the middle from Quicks Quotes reads, "If I could reach up and hold a star for every time you've made me smile, the entire evening sky would be in the palm of my hand."
Here's the original sketch, created by Sara Scraps.

Happy New Year! Now that it's the new year, I finally have some time to catch up with my December Daily Scrapbook album. What a thick album this will be! Day 21 is all about looking at Christmas lights in the neighborhood.
Day 22 shows our yearly tradition of having a picnic under the tree. We talk about what we are thankful for and what we loved about the past year.
Day 23 is all about Christmas with the grandparents. We celebrate the holiday with both my dad and his significant other, my sister and her family, and my husband's family. It's awesome that we all get along so well and can enjoy it together. It's always a good time.
Just for fun, I printed a few pictures in black and white. There were so many good pictures that I had to add a couple extra pages for the day.
Sketches in Thyme has another great sketch challenge this week! It's not too late to scrap a few more precious memories this year and enter to win a prize at the same time! My layout, based on the sketch, features pictures from a day spent at an amazing Dodger game. We were blessed to be able to watch the game in a suite and it was so cool!
Here's the sketch this week. Isn't it great?
I hope you can join over at Sketches at Thyme one more time this year! Happy Scrapping!
December 19th highlights my daughter's love for hot cocoa and the Christmas story. You can see how happy she is in this picture.
December 20th shows off our Christmas card wreath. The photo at the bottom shows a Christmas card from our dear friends in Nevada. We have been friends for a very long time and visit them throughout the year. We I went to scrapbook with Stacy in November, she challenged me to create this December Daily album. It's going to be such a great keepsake when it's done. Thank you for the inspiration, Stacy!
We make a lot of cookies in December. My daughter jumps at the chance to throw a batch in. Of course, sugar cookies need a few red and green sprinkles on them! I used a small frame to pop the picture of the cookies off the page. The ornaments were stickers.
On the 2nd page of I used mostly stickers and an acetate border over the picture. I met one of my besties at the mall and I thought it would be funny to take a picture in front of the Santa photo area. If you look closely at the picture, you'll see a family posing behind us. We had a good laugh at that. I also added a few sequins for a little sparkle.
December Day Day 13th is a tribute to the specialty drinks at Starbucks during the holidays. My favorite is a Creme Brûlée Latte. The background was created from an actual Starbucks cup. My girlfriend, Stacy, gave me the idea to include it on the page.
On the 14th day of December, I got together with most of the girls in my book club for a holiday party. It's such a great group of women and I am lucky to know them. Quite a few of them I met when my now teenage son was in Kindergarten. I added an acetate border to the photo on the right.
On the 12th day of December, we took the kids to their favorite restaurant for dinner. For the first page, I used gold die cuts, glittering numbers, and a cute little frame from Graphic 45. On the second page, the beautifully sequined X and O are stickers, while the gold snowflake is a die cut.
One of the unexpected perks of doing a December Daily album is that the kids readily smile when I take pictures of them now. My son doesn't particularly like to be photographed, but when I say it's for "December Daily," he sighs and puts a smile on his face. Love that he does it for me. It's so sweet.
