One of the coolest places we visited on the island of Hawaii in December was the Ocean Rider Seahorse Farm. It was not only cool to have a seahorse hang off your fingers, it was incredibly interesting! It was about an 1 1/2 tour tour but it kept even Lara entertained, a real feat. Apparently, the life of a seahorse is a very difficult one, especially if you are a male seahorse.
I used a sketch from My Sketch World to start my layout off. There is nothing like a sketch to get the creative juices flowing. The background and glitter paper are from DCWV Stardust line. For the hexagon shapes, I used a mask from Prima which I sprayed with glimmer mist and faux stitched with black marker. The chipboard stickers are from Pink Paislee's Nantucket line. If you look closely, two have sea horses on them. The map was given to us on the plane to the island. The seahorse bling is from Prima.
The journaling reads, "We all enjoyed having a seahorse hang onto our fingers with its tail at a local seahorse farm in Hawaii. It was interesting to learn that seahorse mate for life and the male carries the egg in its pouch until it hatches. They usually live 1-5 years."
If you even stay in Hawaii for a few days, I definitely recommend this outing :)
Enjoy the rest of your weekend,
