Two Cards One Sketch

I'm back today with two cards I created using Sketch-N-Scrap's April 5th card sketch.  I liked the sketch so much, I had to use it twice.  Once for a teacher appreciation card and once for a Mother's day card.

The thank you card was created with Bobunny paper and stickers from October Afternoon.

The Mother's Day card was created with My Mind's Eye Lost and Found paper, flowers cut from a Spellbinder's die, and a sentiment stamped from Crafter's Companion's Humphrey Me to To stamp set.

I also just noticed today that Sketch-N-Scrap has another brilliant card sketch posted for this month here.

Enjoy your week!

Level Up

Today's layout features my son hanging around at one of his favorite spots last year, Boulderdash.  As he climbed all over their faux rock walls, he gradually lost his fear of heights and had so much fun.

I created the layout using the DCWV The Generation Tech Stack.  The layout is based on a sketch challenge over at Sketch- N-Scrap.  Looking at this picture, it's hard to believe that this school year is almost over.   But first things, first - I need to get boiling so we can dye some Easter eggs :)

Have a wonderful weekend!

Attitude is Everything

Good morning friends.  I have another layout of my girl in pre-school again today.  The layout is my take on this Sketch-N-Scrap sketch challenge.

I used bits and pieces of various collections for my layout.  I believe the background paper is from Sassafras Lass, though it could be October Afternoon.

This is the 2nd layout I was able to make over the weekend with my friend, Stacy.   I may make another one today though, as the kids are home sick.  They picked up a bug traveling to Las Vegas.  I think next time, we'll drive ;)

Have a great day!

Wednesday, April 16, 2014

It's spring break around here and our family took a trip to Las Vegas to visit friends in Las Vegas.  It had been about six months since I had seen my bff, Stacy, and we had a great time catching up and scrapbooking together.  I decided to take some pictures of Lara in pre-school that I hadn't gotten to yet.  I used a scrapbook sketch from Stuck On U Sketches as a starting off point.

The paper and embellishments were a hodgepodge of supplies I either had in my stash or I grabbed from Stacy.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek!

Smile and the world will smile with you

Happy Sunday folks!  Today I have a layout of my girl getting silly.  Even with a mustache, she is so stinking cute :)

The paper, including the Smile & the world will smile with you quote, is from My Minds Eye Find Your Wings and Fly collection.  The circle rub-ons are from Maya road, the black and white hearts and butterfly are from Heidi Swapp Black & White Buzz Words, and I added some Prima Say it in Crystals to the lower right side of my page.

I created the layout using the Let's Capture Our Memories sketch challenge.

Enjoy your day!

Mumm Vineyard

Hello friends.  Today's layout is of a fun trip that Chris and I took Napa Valley last summer.  We stopped by Mumm Vineyard for a sparkling wine tasting.  They brought a few different ones to try :)

The layout was created with K & Company paper and stickers from my stash, along with some faux flowers I bought at Joann's.  A pearl in the center of each flowers finished it off.

I am entering my layout in the following challenges:

Emergency Crafters - Flowers
Natalie and Amy's challenge - Flowers
Scrapping 4 Fun challenges - Flowers

This is the big project I am working on right now.  A huge cactus for a school book fair.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend!  I'm sure not looking forward to waking the kids up tomorrow with the time change!

St. Patrick's Day hair clip

Happy Friday friends!  With St. Patrick's Day coming right up, I thought I'd make a hair clip for Lara with a large four-leaf clover.  It was super easy.  I used the Designer Calendar Cricut Cartridge, a low-temp hot glue gun, Folk Art extreme glitter paint, a bit of felt, some gems, and a plain hair clip.  Almost everything was bought at Joann's craft store.

I began by cutting out the four-leaf clover and it's shadow using the Designer Calendar Cricut cartridge at three inches.  I used a couple of green scraps I had on hand.

Next, I quickly painted the smaller clover with Folkart Extreme Glitter paint.  When you first use it, you can really see the brush strokes in the paint.

But when it dries, all you see is TONS of glitter :)  Layer the smaller clover on top of the larger clover.

Next, you will hot glue a small piece of felt to the back of the clovers.

Finally, open the clip and slide another small piece of felt inside the hair clip.  Glue the two pieces of felt together.  It will look like this when you are ready to use it.

For a little added pizzazz, add a few rhinestones to your clover.

You can clip it to the side of your hair.

Or add it to the top of a ponytail.

Here are a few pretty flower hair clips I made using Prima flowers.

Once I figured out how easy they were to make, it was hard to stop.  I definitely need to buy some more Prima flowers now.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great weekend!

Berry Pickin' and Thanksgiving layout

Hello friends.  This has been a slow week for us.  The kids and I all managed to come down with a cold and Nick is on breathing treatments, so we are all taking it easy.  I found a couple more layouts that were just needing some pics to finish them up, so I thought I'd share them briefly.  The first one was a kit I picked up online from a company that no longer sells them.  You could make it easy enough with the right dies.  The pictures are from last year's field trip to an organic farm to pick strawberries.

The second one was from a CKC conventions I took a few years ago.  It was pretty simple, so I added a few embellishments to it to liven it up.  The pics are at my MIL's house at Thanksgiving.

Hope everyone is doing well! There seems to be a lot of bugs floating around right now.

One Cut Cricut Coach cards

Happy President's Day crafty friends!  With Nick in i9 flag football this winter, I needed to whip up a couple of coaches cards.  I pulled out my All Sports cricut cartridge and saw this framed football.  Score!  It's so cute and is done with just one cut.

I finished it off by adding a little "Football is Life" ribbon to the bottom.  Easy, peasy :)

I am entering my football cards in the following challenges:

Clean and Simple on Sunday - Masculine card
Paulaholifieldcrafts - Man Up
Less is More - Masculine card
Really Reasonable Ribbon Ramblings - One for the Boys with ribbon

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

Quick and Easy Valentine's Day cards

Happy Thursday friends!  My kids are off school Friday and Monday, so we are getting ready to kick off a four day weekend.  Yes!  The only homework "we" have to do is work on memorizing a 4 1/2 minute story.  Doesn't that seem crazy hard to you?  Luckily, my 5th grader has a month to get it down.

Today's cards were thrown together in a hurry.  They are the kids' Valentine's Day card.  Of course, they are exactly the same to prevent any sibling rivalry.

The background paper is part of Bella Blvd's Lovey collection (an oldie but a goody).  Then I just added a Love canvas sticker,  a "U", and a few hearts from my sticker stash.  Doesn't get much quicker than that!

I'm entering my Love U cards over at Paper Crafting Journal and The Sisterhood of Crafter's Love is in the Air challenge.

Have a great weekend everybody!
